It is our pleasure to announce the First Annual Canada-China Lawyers Forum, which is being held in Vancouver on October 1-2, 2007 and in Toronto on October 4-5, 2007 .

The next Forum will be held in Beijing and Shanghai in 2008.

The Canada-China Lawyers Forum is an annual gathering for senior lawyers from Canada and China, designed to facilitate dialogue, promote community, and develop economical and cultural understanding between the two countries' legal systems.

The Canada-China Lawyers Forum, to be held in alternate years in Canada and China, brings together lawyers from Canadian and Chinese law firms to meet one another, learn from one another and establish long-term professional relationships.

Distinguished practitioners from both countries will present and discuss legal issues that are central to their practices. Guest speakers will present topics of interest to participants, and at each location prominent members of the legal community will deliver a keynote address. Most importantly, lawyers from both countries will have many opportunities to become acquainted with each other, and to develop mutually beneficial professional alliances.

• Foreign Direct Investment and China's Outbound Investment
• Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions
• Natural Resource Laws and Issues
• Law Firm Management
• Litigation, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution Issues
• Conflict of Laws and Jurisdictional Issues
